"PIE-EYED PIPER, JET-BLACK PLAGUE"
Step right up, it's the pie-eyed piper
You better call him "Mister"
He takes out rats like an old pit viper
Pay your dues to the pie-eyed piper
He's more than a garbage man
The last time i saw the piper
He was way on the outskirts of Hamelin, headed East
On top of Koppelberg Hill
Back in, like, 1268
He had whole crew of rug-rats taggin' along
Orpans 'n' bastards
Now where'd everybody go?
{ { {<<< . . . >>> } } }
Yeah, it's good to be alive
I'm cool, everybody
Real estate's never been this cheap
I guess the next town's gonna get the 'Sease
While all the children eat raspberries
Steppin' out with the Pie-Eyed Piper
Respect!
In the cave with the old pit vipers

A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
The Swiss quartet's strongest release yet. Two tracks of assertive post-punk with primitive garage beats and and spaced-out synths. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 5, 2018

This is beautiful in eight completely different ways, from aggressive to contemplative. Gets even better with repeated listens. Will be in my year-end top 10 for 2015 guaranteed. Howie Howard
